This new book is the "bible" for Texas Hold'em
players.
In just three years, Texas Hold’em Poker
has become the fastest growing game in America.
The game’s most high profile event, The
World Series of Poker, has become the richest sporting event in
the world.
According to experts, the game’s popularity was
boosted by the World Series of Poker’s most startling fact:
For the past three years the main event was won by relative newcomers to the game.
Now Dennis Purdy, promoter and professional
card-player, has revealed the winning strategies they used in his
new book, The Illustrated Guide to Texas Hold’em.
Using his expertise at teaching the game to beginners, Purdy has
both an expert’s perspective on the history of the game, and a
forward-looking view at the game’s future.
An expert interview with Purdy includes
discussions on:
- The appeal
of the game to non-players, and why the game became the
“in-thing” across the nation and around the world.
- Why
teenagers and college students are the ones who are getting
hooked the most.
- The vital
role of the internet in the game’s popularity, and how the
internet will ensure its success.
- Why girls
are picking up the game.
- The role of
movies in building the games popularity (Rounders, Ocean’s
Eleven).
Unlike all other books about the game, Purdy
uses 150 real-game situations, fully illustrated, to teach
professional strategies to Beginners. By laying out the
fundamentals of the game in a decision-making format, the Illustrated Guide to Texas Hold’em helps both the novice and
the experienced player to bet smarter and to win more money. And,
the book’s innovations will help the game reach a wider audience
than it has reached before.
