PokerSchool Online TestimonialI want to thank Mark and all the players in the school for all the tournament practice that I have received on Poker Pages. This week on Monday, Dec. 10th in Atlantic City's, Taj Mahal I made it to the final table and came in 6th place in a major limit holdem tournament.
Thank you again...next time I'm going for 1st!

"This past week-end was my first trip to a brick and mortar tournament. I've played in one $10 2-table tourney and one 250 person free roll for a world series seat a few years ago. I also play in a weekly home game where we play $10 n/l hold'em tourneys, the competition is often pretty good but due to short rounds the game can be a little reckless.
The powers that be don't allow tournaments in BC so I had to travel to Regina for the Harvest Poker Classic. I missed the first event but it was 7-stud and it's not my best game so it was of no great concern. The second event was Omaha, a relatively new game for me but I seem to have taken to it fairly well. With a $100 buy-in, 1 $100 rebuy and a $100 add-on I finished 13th in a field of 160 for a pay-out of $659.
The next event was N/L hold'em, same buy in, re-buy, and add-on, and I finished 30th out of 171 in a heart breaking loss that I'll offer up for opinions in another thread.
Lastly, the main event, limit hold'em, $200 buy-in, no rebuy necessary this time, and a $100 add-on and I finished in 7th position for a payday of $2389. I also missed the money in the best over-all by less than 10 points (finishing 4th I think). Makes that N/L loss all the more sad because 3rd in the over-all was worth $2200.
Also, there were 3 people left in the $50 last man(woman) standing pool when we got to 20 players, so we chopped it $400 each so we could concentrate on the game.
All that rambling aside I really want to thank PokerSchool Online, the things I've learned in these tournaments have helped my play in a big way and with nowhere to practice locally I'm sure I would never have done so well without the things I've learned here . Now with the school to help work out the rest of the bumps I can hardly wait for my next opportunity to play." - Scott The Fierce

Well it wasn't Vegas like Pokerwidow, but I made it out to Turning Stone casino here in upstate NY, and was ecstatic over how I played. I sat down to a $3-$6 table with about $200, and my first hand dealt, I get KK..talk about trial by fire...I'm one from the button, everyone folds to me, I bet. Button looks at me and smiles, and says something to the effect of how he likes playing new guys. He raises me, so I ponder a minute, and call. Flop comes 9 3 K rainbow, good stuff for me, but I check., trying to slowplay. He bets, and I decide to just call....making him think I am trying to draw out possibly. Turn is a 4 I think, I check again, he bets, I call. Flop comes, it's a 3, now I've got a boat...and am sure I have the best hand...33 is all that wins, not likely.
This time I bet, he raises, and I re-raise....button looks at me for a second and smiles, calls my re-raise, and turns over his cards..99. I turned over my KK, and I thought he was going to choke. He was actually pretty P.Oed, and a few hands later got up and left the table. One hell of a first hand!
After that, I pretty much posted and folded for about an hour, then won with A 10 suited, after catching top two on the flop. After about 3 hours, my $200 had turned into about $335, and I was happy as a lark.
I can't tell you how much more comfortable I felt being there, having the experience I have had here. This school really does work,
no doubt about it. Thanks to everyone who has helped me with my play so far, I definitely appreciate it! -DJ-
